St. Paul's Outside the Walls
St. Paul's Outside the Walls was first built by Constantine who had construction begin in 330. Like Constantine's St. Peter's church built on St. Peter's tomb, St. Paul's was built on the site of Paul's tomb.
It was completed in 395.
A major fire destroyed it in 1823 and donations came from around the world to rebuild. The new Church today resembles the St. peter's Bacilica built by Constantine.
Mass was celebrated here the Saturday before the Canonization, so many of the Canonization pilgrims attended.
